I think the new year should be about reflecting on health, work, attitude to life but also on a more in-depth level... To give more, support those in need and naturally become genuinely happier for it.

I meet a lot of influential people on my day to day ventures and world travels, but i'm pleased to have met the founder of a children's charity on my last trip to Maimi for new years- Whizz Kid's charity based in Africa.

Whizz Kid's focuses on supporting youth with HIV/AIDS. The charity uses tactful programs such as mixed gender Football tournaments as an 'analogy to life'

It's Whizz Kid's 10th year anniversay this 2012 and since the start of this remarkably thought out organisation, the staff team and youth involved seems to have grown immensly.

WHY DON'T* we all do something 'really' fulfilling and help support those dedicating their lives to support the disadvantaged.. And let's make a habit of it!

Miami Trip Round 4- NYE*

My 4th trip to Miami & definitely the eye opener to how beautiful the city, is with its huge lavishly designed hotels, restaurants and clubs.

It's a wrap for 2011*

So that's it for modelling this year, i worked on my last shoot yesterday on a beauty magazine feature with a great team. My agency had a Christmas get together that afternoon so i rushed to make it straight after with crazy, cool model Alison from New York- this girls vocabulary is just infinite lol

Drinks at the agency were followed by more drinks with friends at lovely Aqua bar on Argyle Street and great urban music at club Cirque De Soir later.

WORLD Celebrate's Eritrean & Ethiopian Culture* :)

It's about time the world got to know our culture- the Habasha culture* Ethiopian & Eritrean nations. Ethiopia's definitely growing with it's positivity in modern entertainment news, aside from the constant portrayal of famine and disadvantages. Eritrea- where I'm from is a much smaller neighbouring country which holds a population of only 3-5 million. Our culture's are almost identical but our mama Eritrea is yet to fully show case her individual pride. She WILL creep up and catch up to the the lime light soon!

Top of my list is our beautiful food! Rich in flavour from herbs & spices your pallet would have never experienced! Wholesome meat/chicken/fish stews, vegetable dishes and salads are all presented on the famous Injera- a thin pancake like bread (not sweet). Traditionally we eat in one sitting, one large round plate with our hands. Our coffee is made with fresh coffee beans- roasted and brewed on the spot into pretty little coffee sets.. Our music- full on Ethiopian beats and Eritrean tempo's both bring me right back to my proud roots and warm my soul.

Don't even miss to recognise the dance TALENT - Beyonce's shoulder and hair whip's, Dutty Whine, Harlem Shake all seem to definitely be taken from traditional Habasha dance. Our most common tribal clothes- all in white i absolutely love, our hair styles and bold jewellery are just stunning, and of course our women are known to be THE most BEAUTIFUL* :)

If you haven't tried our food, google Eritrean or Ethiopian Cuisine in your town or city and visit the most traditional restaurant. Every body I've introduced to the food is HOOKED! :)
But do be a champ and eat together with your guests on traditional large sharing plate.. WITH your hands- thumbs DOWN J COLE!

Lastly- i just came acrss this video with Beyonce for the millenium party in Ethiopia- the crowds energy when she played ETHIOPIS NEW MELLENIUM SONG- got me real emotional :(...

Aside from the average day of a model i gained some very wise and inspirational truths this week- thought i'd share on my blog I hope all of you over in cyber world can relate and take something from the following words and statements- i sure have!

~ Sometimes ppl you'd take bullet 4, r the ones behind the trigger
~ Don't ever underestimate the ability to make new friends.. Longevity is not the focus, validity & asset to your present and future life IS
~ Do not let the insecurities and negativity of others influence your choices and direction in life. These people don't have your ambitions and goals so surround yourself with people that do. This is the only way to progress in life... If you want to achieve, surround yourself with achievers
~ The Mayans reckon the world will end in 2012 - so we may as well have a ball, eh?
~Some people have mastered the art of.. BULL***TING.. Be mature to not attend to it, let it distract valid thought process or give it any time. Spend the energy on getting ahead... F*** the sideline drama, and focus on the main deal: achieving goals and ambitions.
~In time, everything is revealed, and karma always says "hello" when least expected!
~Never rely on gossip- request hard facts
~Pay it no mind and prove your doubters wrong by absolutely destroying all competition and have a stellar career / life / attitude... F*** everything else.
~ONCE AGAIN- If you want to achieve, surround yourself with achievers!

Versatile world of modelling*

Be prepared for anything in this industry.. I had two completely different shoots yesterday with a Japanese themed fashion shoot- hectic styling, huge team, fun atmosphere... and todays with a test commercial for Johnson's Baby products- very calm setting, loads of work with babies too which was sweet but not so easy getting the babies to focus and smile. My baby was asleep for most of the day!

I think i'm shooting bridal next :)

Beyonce Lookalike* :)

The last few days work, i found myself modelling in very similar styling to Beyonce & Rihanna!

Friday's shoot for R&B Essentials CD cover and tv add had me styled to resemble the Beyonce Pulse perfurm add. The second look had me in hot pants and cute corset top for more of a Riri look- love the spotted shorts!

I've also been shooting for a new cosmteics range- and once gain i had my Beyonce hair put on- love the blond tone of this lace wig!!
